Community of Character

Our goal is to strengthen the citizens, their families, and the community by promoting excellence in character, and thereby to become a “community of character”.

The Community of Character effort is a collaborative effort by Orangeburg County Consolidated School Districts 3, 4, and 5, City of Orangeburg, County of Orangeburg, Regional Medical Center, Downtown Orangeburg Revitalization Association, Orangeburg Chamber of Commerce, The Times and Democrat, and the Orangeburg County Development Commission.

Our vision for the better community is to reduce crime rates, increase productivity, decrease absenteeism, enhance economic development, have a positive self-image, and create Positive County and community image.

We strive to follow the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
